Help with our Club Slalom event

Hi Paddler

Every year our club runs one or two Slalom competitions for paddlers nationally to compete in.  The events are run by our Slalom section but with the scale of the event they are always keen for help from other people.

The event is on the 28th and 29th of September and will be taking place on the White Water course.

If you are able to help on either day, could you please contact Helen, our Slalom Trustee, on Slalom@hppcc.co.uk and she will be able to add your name to the list of volunteers.

As an example some help may be required with
Marshalling
Acting as a runner, bringing results back to the timing hut (no you don’t need to run!)
Helping with weighing boats
Supporting with the information area

In particular on the Sunday the event team are short of Safety cover.  This requires people who are experienced at using throw lines to rescue swimmers from the course, and ideally have undertaken either WW safety and rescue course or a Stadium safety course training.

If you have never seen top class athletes competing in one of the disciplines of our sport then please feel free to come along and watch and support our club paddlers when they compete.

Do contact Helen if you are able to help. Slalom@hppcc.co.uk

Please don’t reply to this email if you want to help.

Kind regards
Dawn
