Slalom

Slalom is racing down the White-Water course navigating through poles and is an Olympic sport. We have a range of boats and paddles for you to try out so no there is need to buy equipment straight away. The Slalom coaches, coach paddlers all year round so slalom paddlers pay monthly by standing order rather than session by session so we can plan our coaches to the number of paddlers expected. Water fees must be paid at the white water reception. A season pass may be purchased with a club discount being given.

Our slalom section work with junior paddlers to develop their skills and support them on their racing career. Slalom paddlers are placed into squads and will work with an identified coach on a coaching pathway. Regular commitment is required, with the squads training twice a week every week.

All of our Slalom coaching team have vast experience of the course at HPP so they will be able to help you progress your confidence, skills and racing lines.

HPPCC have racers at all levels of competition from Division 4 to paddling for GB at various age ranges. We also have a large number of our racers on various GB squads.

As a club we enter a team into the national inter-clubs competition as well as running a Premier and Div 1 race at HPP. We also have an end of season/Christmas bash to award a variety of prizes. This is a fun night for all with a recap of the good the bad and the plain ugly events of the last year. Paddlers and parents are invited to send in video clips or photographs of the paddlers for a short film.
