Dear Paddler,
This Saturday would have been the last recreational section session of the year. Unfortunately after having looked at current and predicted river levels and weather forecast we are cancelling the Saturday social paddle and Coached session. We will re-commence sessions on Saturday, 4th January 2025.
Dawn is organising the New Year paddle for this year which will take place on Saturday the 11th of January along the Ashby Canal to avoid flooding risks. It is the second Saturday in January to allow anyone wanting to borrow kit to collect it on the previous Saturday. The trailer will be used for this trip, and anyone wanting a boat transporting on the Trailer will need to ensure that the boat of their choice is loaded on the Saturday prior to the trip. Don’t forget that the pool sessions for January are live on eola for booking, this is 3.45 -5.15pm on Saturdays at the Ken Martin Pool in Bulwell. Open to all club members who want to gain confidence in capsizing, practising rescues or learning to roll.

We are also planning three more trips for the new year.
Saturday the 22nd of February – Trent and Mersey Canal, and River Trent trip. Full details to come out at the beginning of January after a recce over Christmas.
Saturday the 22nd of March – River Soar, Normanton on Soar to Trent Lock
For both of the above trips the trailer will be used, for those without the ability to transport their own boats. Booking on Eola will be available in early January for this.
Saturday & Sunday 17/18th May – Lake District, Hopefully Coniston Water and the bottom end of Windermere, but exact paddle will depend on weather and wind.
