I’m pretty sure a few weeks ago I said the weather was lovely, oh well. At least the swimming pool sessions are warm, and there’s plenty more of those to come in the new year. Weekly Session bookings will be going live on December 19th.
A few things to mention this month…
1. December 13th – Christmas mingle at the compound
12:00 on December 13th it would be lovely to see some faces at the compund for some mince pies and drinks. Everyone is welcome, even if you aren’t paddling that day.
Book here so we have an idea on numbers.

2. New year paddle – January 3rd
Burn off those pigs in blankets and relieve that hangover with the wonderful News Year Paddle on the Ashby canal.

3. Club WhatsApp
So here’s the thing, there is a club WhatsApp community and if you want to join it email me your phone number and I will add you. chair@hppcc.uk
There are some rules:
No under 18s. No harassment, bullying, politics etc. Only admins can add you to groups. Do not contact people unless you have express permission. Keep messaging limited to the groups purpose.
Simple really and they have been very useful for coaches to organise stuff and get messages out.
4. Compound tidy up – January 17th
We would like some help again in the compound. Tidy up, build stuff, fix stuff, scrap stuff. If you are willing to come down on the Saturday morning/afternoon let me know.
5. Wye trip – June 5-7th
I know right, ages away. However the camping gets booked up, so you want to get in there early. Here’s the lowdown: Book at the Lucksall campsite and say you are with the HPPCC group (Dawn and Ian) and they will stick us all together. It’s a lovely weekend for the whole family, even non-paddlers can enjoy the area.
It’s worth noting the accomodation isn’t arranged by the club, so we do not accept liabilty for any problems that may arise.

6. Sea kayaking – contact information
So you see sea kayaking as something you see yourself doing on the sea. Well fortunuately for you we have people in the club that want to get you to the sea so you can see how much fun the sea is.
Your sea kayaking contact is Amanda and her email is trustee@hppcc.uk
Get involved, you might even see a seal in the sea.
That’s all for now, until the corrections email comes out next week.
If I don’t see you before, have a lovely Christmas.
Andrew
