Thank you to all the members who supported this years AGM which was held at the Paddle UK offices on Saturday 2nd November 2024.
A presentation chaired by Dawn was made to members by individual Trustees summarising the clubs activities for the financial year 1st April 2023 to 30th March 2024.
Financial report
Robin in his role as Treasurer presented the club accounts and was pleased to report that the club is in a very healthy financial position. It was confirmed there would be no change in membership fees for this year.
Guy Wilson was thanked for his many years of service to the club as our auditor and has stood down. Our thanks also go to Jacob Steel who has volunteered to be our auditor for the next financial year.

Chris Nadollek has stood down as a Trustee and will continue in his role as Paddle Ability lead
Trevor Tarlton-Wetherall and Dave Guntrip have stood down and will remain active club members.
Dawn thanked Trevor for giving a fantastic 13 years service to members on the club committee.
Andrew Good was elected to Chair.
Amanda Randall and Simon Jones were elected as new Trustees
The following Trustees were re-elected;
Graham Blakey
Beth Kirby
Ian Law
Robin Randall
Helen Reeves
Ian Scott
Andy Steel
Club President
Andrew gave a short speech to members to recognise that Dawn has given 20 years dedicated service to the club, 17 years in the role of club Chair, developing HPPCC into one of the largest clubs in the country with over 400 members.
Under Dawn’s leadership the club has grown to offer members an ever wider range of paddle sports to enjoy and access to a fabulous range of modern water craft to enjoy their sport in. Dawn’s efforts to professionalise the club to enhance what it offers to members was recognised by British Canoeing awarding the club its Quality Award.
Behind the scenes perhaps not so obvious to members Dawn has worked hard to modernise the club systems to benefit members. The club now has a website, online membership system, online session booking, accounting software and we are now cashless.
Andrew paid tribute in particular to Dawn’s outstanding leadership when she rallied the club after the 2009 devastating arson attack which destroyed over 60 boats, all our paddles and buoyancy aids.
Dawn worked tirelessly, coordinating with the centre, and other local clubs to borrow equipment to get our members back on the water. Dawn coordinated with the centre, insurers, local companies and members who volunteered their time and skills to build the club compound we enjoy today.
