CLUB AGM

Dear Paddler

We would like to invite you to our 2023 Annual General Meeting.

As a registered charity, the club needs to hold an AGM yearly to report back to members on the club’s activities, future plans, approve our annual accounts and elect our Trustees.

Our 2023 AGM will be held on Saturday 30th September 2023 in the British Canoeing Offices located on the opposite side of the rowing lake to where the club compound is. We would like to see as many members as possible attend in person.

A light lunch, choice of sandwiches, cold drinks, tea and coffee will be provided at 12.45 pm prior to the AGM starting at 1.30 pm, which we would envisage being concluded no later than 3 pm.

Please use the link below to let us know if you would like to attend in person and have food and inform us of any special dietary requirements.  If you don’t let us know then you can still attend on the day, we just won’t have food for you!

Trustees

The following are currently elected as Trustees to the Charity from the last AGM

Chair                                           Dawn Scott

Treasurer                                    Robin Randall

Secretary                                    Ian Law

Coaching and Volunteers           Ian Scott

Freestyle                                     Andrew Good

Rafting                                        Beth Kirby

Recreation                                  Trevor Tarlton Weatherall

Slalom                                        Liam Brown

Stand Up Paddle Boarding          Vacancy

Touring                                       Dave Guntrip

White Water                               Andy Steel

Youth                                          Chris Newcombe

Liam Brown is stepping down as slalom trustee and we thank him for the fantastic contribution he has made to developing the slalom section, especially our youth paddlers.

Any member of the club is welcome to submit their name to stand for any Trustee position.  All trustees within the club are elected on a yearly basis.

We are proposing to create a new Trustee position for Paddle ability and Chris Nadollek has put his name forward for this role.

Each year 3 Trustees are required to stand down, for 2022 the three Trustee positions standing down are;

Slalom              Liam Brown

Touring             Dave Guntrip

FreeStyle          Andrew Good

However, Dave and Andrew would like to stand for election again for their current roles.

We have a vacancy for a new Trustee to join the committee to promote Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) within the club. You do not have to hold a SUP coaching qualification to be the SUP Trustee. A strong interest in SUP coupled with a desire to encourage and support club members to participate in SUP is all that is needed to be a great SUP Trustee.

We also have a vacancy for a new Trustee to support our slalom section. You do not have to be a slalom paddler yourself, you may have an understanding of the sport gained as a parent of a youth slalom paddler. You will have the support of our new BC funded slalom coach to introduce new paddlers to the sport and develop the section.

Any members wishing to stand for a Trustee position should inform the Secretary – Ian Law, secretary@hppcc.co.uk  by 25th September.

Role descriptions are available for all of the positions, if you are interested then please contact the Chair – Dawn Scott – chair@hppcc.co.uk and we can send the role description to you.

As Chair I would like to thank all of our Trustees, volunteers, coaches and paddlers for your support for the club as we have dealt with the challenges of Covid this last year.

We look forward to seeing you at the AGM on the 30th September 2023.

Kind Regards

Dawn Scott
