I just wanted to remind you of some dates of club activities, and let you know of some dates when the White water Course will be closed.
We are running 3 paddle safer training sessions, these are 2 hour sessions aimed at paddlers who are starting out on their paddling journey. Learn how to rescue yourself, rescue others and stay safe on the water.
The first is this Saturday afternoon and there are still spaces available for the session so sign up here
You receive British Canoeing certification, and this is an ideal course to do in the nice warm weather!
We are also running a two day British Canoeing explore course 22nd and 23rd of July (Book Here)
which will give you a great opportunity to improve your paddling, refine your skills and move you towards becoming an independent paddler. This is a fantastic opportunity to spend 2 days really getting confident in your craft and undertaking a journey. The course can be done in any craft of your choosing.
White water exclusive use
We have been informed by the centre that the WW course has been booked for exclusive use on the following dates
1st July 07:30 – 18:00
2nd July 07:30 – 16:00
15th July All Day
16th July All Day
26th August All Day
27th August All Day
Even if you are not a White Water user, the course will be booked for an event and therefore the car parks will be busier than usual and you might want to allow extra time to get to the club.
On the 2nd of July our Under 19 rafting team are running an event for a local Rotary club in order to raise funds for them to go abroad to represent GB. They are looking for the support of some coaches on the Sunday morning to help run some come and try it sessions on the lagoon. If you can help can you please contact Andrew Good on Freestyle@hppcc.co.uk . If you are not qualified but could help then please do contact Andrew, as many hands make light work.
That’s all for now, but we should have details of touring trips for the next few months coming soon.
