Some new opportunities

Dear Paddler
I am delighted that following the government’s announcements of the next steps for resuming activities we are able to start offering trips again.
The first will be on Sunday the 23rd of May on the Ashby canal, going in the opposite direction to our trip in October.
Details are on our club website and if you want more details please contact Dave Guntrip on Touring@hppcc.co.uk <mailto:Touring@hppcc.co.uk>. Please note that if you want to borrow club equipment then you will need to transport it yourself to the trip.
We are also starting the first of what will be a regular series of litter picks on the River Trent on Sunday the 6th of June. Thanks to very generous financial support from Severn Trent water which enabled the club to purchase rafts and Stand up Paddleboards, we will be litter picking each month to help keep our waterways clean.
The litter picks are open to anyone including non paddling family members as those who don’t normally paddle will be able to go out in a raft whilst other paddlers can be in their normal craft. Details again are on the club website so please go to eola.co/w/1027/activities <eola.co/w/1027/activities> for information and booking. Both events are free to club members.
Finally, some sad news for those who have been in the club for a while. I am sorry to pass on that Robin Busby passed away last week. Robin was a club member and coach for many years and was one of the founding members of the club. His brother is compiling a memory book and if you would like to contribute please get in touch and i will pass the details on.
We look forward to seeing you out on the water.
Kind regards Dawn Scott
