Dear Paddler
Our ever popular Wye Weekend is back again with the opportunity for touring, and White Water at Symonds Yat and the Cardiff White Water Centre.
The date is Friday 9th of June to Sunday the 11th of June.
Many club members stay at the popular campsite at Lucksall, which is at Mordiford just outside Hereford. We have been made aware this year that the campsite is already receiving a lot of bookings so we would encourage you to book as soon as possible with the campsite if you want to stay there. Bookings should be made directly to enquiries@lucksallpark.co.uk Please tell them you are part of the canoe club so that they can put us together in the same area.
The campsite also has camping pods and huts that can be hired.
If is not necessary to stay on the campsite, and other campsites, B&B’s and hotels are available in the area.
When you have booked your accommodation you will need to let us know that you are coming by using the club booking portal.
The trips are usually about 14km long, and are with the flow. You do need to be confident of paddling that distance but this is an excellent introduction to gently moving water.
Andy Steel will also be organising a group to paddle the Rapids at Symonds Yat and possibly at the WW centre at Cardiff.
This is always a really sociable trip and is open to paddlers in touring kayaks, general purpose kayaks, canoes, Stand up Paddleboards.
Families are welcome to come, and for any non-paddling partners or children there are plenty of activities in Hereford and the surrounding areas.
I know that this may be earlier than usual to be advertising this trip, but you will need to book any campsites early this year, as they are very popular.
If you would like more information please speak to Dawn or Ian
Kind regards
Dawn
